Covid-19 Update

ORAL HEALTHCARE IS AN ESSENTIAL SERVICE

We believe your oral health is an essential component of your overall health. The mouth is often described as the window to your body and therefore ensuring your teeth and gums stay healthy will always be our priority. We want to ensure you receive the dental care you want and need.

YOUR SAFETY IS OUR PRIORITY

Your safety is our primary concern – for you, your loved ones, our families, our team, and our community. We genuinely care for those we serve and those we serve alongside.

STANDARD SAFETY PROCEDURES

We always employ extensive measures to protect our patients and our team from the spread of infections.

  • We are a QIP Accredited practice which means that our policies processes are assessed by a third party to meet all regulations to a high standard

  • We consistently take "universal precautions” to provide a safe environment as detailed in the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care and the NSQHS guidelines

  • We meticulously follow all relevant guidelines for disinfection of patient areas

  • We ensure sterilization of instruments

  • We treat surfaces with hospital-grade disinfectants that kill all viruses and bacteria

  • We autoclave dental instruments to eliminate all viruses and bacteria

  • We use disposable, single-use supplies when applicable

ENHANCED SAFETY PROCEDURES FOR COVID-19

In addition to our standard safety procedures, we are adding the following enhanced safety procedures regarding requirements for entry to our clinics, our waiting room, restrooms, clinical rooms to protect our patients, and team from the spread of the coronavirus:

  • We triage all patients over the phone to determine their COVID-19 exposure to ensure no active or suspected case will enter the clinic

  • All people entering the premisis will need to sign in via the Victorian Government QR Code Check In

  • A mask or face-covering must be worn at all times within the clinic until ready for dental treatment to commence

  • We check the temperature (using a touchless forehead thermometer) of anyone who enters the clinic upon entry

  • Alcohol Based Hand Sanitizer is provided and must be used upon entry of the clinic

  • We frequently disinfect all handles, doors, and chairs in the practice

  • Literature and magazines have been removed from the waiting room

  • We arrange the waiting room to meet the social distancing standards as described in our COVID-Safe Plan

  • We ask that only one parent/guardian/support person can accompany a patient into the surgery

  • We wear enhanced Personal Protective Equipment

  • We require all patient to rinse with a viricidal mouth rinse prior to any examination or treatment

  • Additional precautions such as rubber dam may be used for procedures that may produce aerosol

  • We have installed sneeze guard barriers at the front desk area

  • We have installed signage to assist and educate our patients regarding appropriate infection control and hand hygiene practices.
