When is the best time to get braces?
Whilst braces and orthodontic treatment in general is the most efficient during childhood and teenage years, more and more adults are also achieving excellent results.

Children should be continually assessed during their early childhood with regular check-ups so that our dentists can review their growth. Generally speaking, children should be assessed for orthodontic problems from the age of 8-10 years old. If jaw growth discrepancies are detected (e.g underbite, overbite, lack of space for adult teeth), early treatment may be recommended to encourage favourable growth and reduce the severity of problems later down the track. Braces is often recommended after the adult teeth have changed or around the age of 12-14. This coincides with the peak pubertal growth spurt which accelerates the speed of tooth movement.

How do I get started?
Book an orthodontic consultation with Dr Youping Wang, Dr Wendy Hu or our visiting Specialist Orthodontist to discuss your treatment goals and options. Our consultation process consists of two separate appointments to allow us time to assess all of your records and information comprehensively. Your health insurance may also cover a portion of these fees if you have major dental coverage.
As with all treatment, the cost can vary depending on your individual needs. Prices for a full course of orthodontic treatment can range from $6800 - $8800. A clear financial consent listing all of the inclusions for your treatment will be explained during your treatment plan consultation with your dentist.
